Stuff! Your! E-reader!
I hope all of you who celebrate Christmas had a great holiday. Mine was lovely; I got to feed people and make children happy, and that's a bonus any time.
This year I made cloaks for my niece and nephew and their cousins, and they were a hit. Can recommend for the crafty among you.

Love, Laodice came out on December 24th, which was a nice gift-to-self - thank you very much to those of you who pre-ordered, and please feel free to drop a review on Goodreads (thank you, Cindy!), Storygraph (thank you, Chloe!), or your e-retailer.
But whether you are a Christmas fan or not, we can all celebrate the best day of the e-book romance reader year: stuff your e-reader day!
There are thousands of books. So, so many books, and all of them free for 24 precious hours. Naturally, they won't all be your cup of preferred beverage, but you can sort by genre category, by heat level, by vibe, and you can also ctrl-F your way through the keywords. You can also ctrl-F for your favourite authors!
I myself like to hit up "curvy" "plus size" "enemies to lovers" and "fake", and then I just kinda scroll and choose things on vibes. It's like satisfying my acquisitive little heart by hitting the post-holiday sales, but I spend no money.
Here are my recs for books and authors I've previously enjoyed:
- Ask Cassandra by Kate Healey, naturally. It's a contemporary romance retelling of the cursed House of Atreus, because nothing says "workplace rom-com" like "Greek tragedy", at least if you're me. (Direct link here, but really, I encourage you to check out the event, did I mention how many books?)
- Glimmer of the Other, by Heather G. Harris - a really fun urban fantasy with fantastic worldbuilding and a skydiving heroine I love a lot.
- City of Souls (Soul Court Ascension Book 1) by Mel Harding-Shaw - urban fantasy set in a post-apocalyptic Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara, with very hot leads snarling/kissing their way through a fake relationship.
- Single Dad For The Runaway Bride by Courtney Clark Michaels - I love Courtney's work so much that I read her sports romances, and everyone who knows me is now saying "But Karen, you do not give a single shit about sports" and yes, that's how much I love Courtney's work! THIS one is about a NZ doctor/reality TV runaway bride (good, I say, all reality TV brides should run away) + the Samoan owner of the resort, who really needs the wedding to go off without a hitch. (PUN INTENDED).
- His Mate By Vengeance, by Mel Aitchess. I haven't read this one, but I've liked Mel's other work a lot. This is M/M, werewolf/vampire, paranormal mafia enemies-to-lovers and I'm intrigued.
And here are the books and authors I know nothing about, but have already downloaded because VIBES:
- Mayhem and Mystics, by Izzy Wilder
- Married to my Grumpy Minotaur Boss, by Ami Wright (You have to at least click on this one for the amazing cover)
- The Bookshop Girl and the Billionaire, by Jennie Kew
- Fake It To The Limit, by Mary Frame
- One Wylde Night, by Chastity Bowlin
- His Big City Neighbor, by Jackie Lau
- Heart and Soul of the Wolf, by Arizona Tape
And I'm about to go grab some more.
Merry Stuff Your E-Reader Day, one and all!
